DIVERSE INNOVATORS: CELEBRATING AAPI VOICES & VISIONS

Wednesday, May 22nd | 6-9 PM | Anchin Office

Taste a variety of AAPI-owned food and beverage brands, network with the Naturally New York community, and engage in our panel discussion, "Bridging Culture Through the Retail Aisle."

The shift from a solitary ethnic grocery store aisle or segregating products by cultural backgrounds has begun a wide sweeping shift. These trailblazing brands and marketers will dive deep into the idea of radical inclusivity in retail, it's effect within packaging design and product innovation, and share insights and strategies for crafting and sharing authentic narratives that resonate both on store shelves and in homes.

Join Joanne Kwong (President, Pearl River Mart), Kenshiro Uki (President, Sun Noodle), Maya Kaimal (Founder, Maya Kaimal Foods), Sue Kim (VP of Marketing, Spindrift), and moderator, Jolene Delisle (Founder, The Working Assembly) for a lively and fun discussion.

We hope to see you there!

Today, under Joanne’s leadership, Pearl River remains the joyful shopping institution beloved by generations of New Yorkers and visitors alike. Joanne serves on the boards of New York Public Radio, Light Up Chinatown, the Meatpacking Business Improvement District, and the Columbia College Alumni Association, and was recently appointed to the U.S. Congressional Commission To Study the Potential Creation of a National Museum of Asian Pacific American History and Culture. In recent years, she has been honored as one of Gold House’s A100 “Most Impactful Asians and Pacific Islanders” and Time Out NY’s “9 Amazing Women Who Changed New York for the Better.”
