DIVERSE INNOVATORS: CELEBRATING AAPI VOICES & VISIONS

Wednesday, May 22nd | 6-9 PM | Anchin Office

Taste a variety of AAPI-owned food and beverage brands, network with the Naturally New York community, and engage in our panel discussion, "Bridging Culture Through the Retail Aisle."

In a nation where approximately 40 percent of the populace identifies as nonwhite, it's disheartening that we're often confined to a solitary ethnic grocery store aisle or section, segregating products by cultural backgrounds. However, there's a promising shift towards mainstream acceptance, thanks to trailblazing brands and forward-thinking buyers like our esteemed panelists: Joanne Kwong (President, Pearl River Mart), Kenshiro Uki (President, Sun Noodle), Maya Kaimal (Founder, Maya Kaimal Foods), Sue Kim (VP of Marketing, Spindrift), and moderator, Jolene Delisle (Founder, The Working Assembly).

During our discussion, we'll dive deep into dismantling the misconceptions surrounding the 'ethnic' aisle, challenging antiquated categories by dispelling the stereotypes that have long defined 'exotic' food brands. We'll explore the concept of radical inclusivity across packaging design and delve into strategies for crafting and sharing authentic narratives that resonate both on store shelves and in homes.

We hope to see you there!
